Transforming Dubai’s Business Groups

The Dubai Chamber of Commerce launched the Business Group Enablement Program to help business groups enhance their operational efficiency and improve their industries through advocacy activities. 

The Business Group Enablement Program was a transformation initiative designed to support various business groups registered under the Dubai Chamber of Commerce. These groups varied in their levels of maturity, engagement, and advocacy consistency. The program aimed to build operational efficiencies within these groups to help them effectively fulfill their mandates and grow their respective industries. 


The Impact

Better representation of the private sector in the government and government insight on the needs of the private sector. 


Key Strategic Activities 

  • Empowered business groups to achieve more impactful results through advocacy. 

  • Facilitated the expansion of business group memberships to adequately represent a substantial majority of the industry. 

  • Developed success metrics and scoring systems, delivered workshops, and held regular one-on-one sessions for tailored advice and progress tracking. 


Highlights of the Program 

  • TML collaborated with the Dubai Chamber of Commerce to generate the roadmap of the program and structure its implementation. 

  • At the beginning of the program, surveys were conducted to evaluate the maturity levels and KPI compliance of each business group. At the end of the program, the comparative progress of each business group was reported.  

  • Tracking and scoring systems were developed to track the KPIs based on the requirements shared by the Dubai Chamber of Commerce. 

  • To ensure business groups had everything they needed to meet the goals set for them, extensive training materials and documentation were created, including KPI tracking checklists, governance guides, operational planning checklists, and templates for various business group activities. 

  • TML facilitated sessions with industry experts to provide specialized knowledge and skills to the business groups. 

  • Regular one-on-one sessions were held with each business group to provide tailored advice and track progress.


Conclusion 

The program successfully met the objectives set by the Dubai Chamber of Commerce, improving the efficiency of the business groups in their respective sectors.
